The River
There’s a devil walking in the valley below
And it won’t be long till he’s at my door
And I’m tired, and broken, and desperate and poor
But I won’t be tempted by the cards he holds
For I Behold the River
And I Behold the Sea
And I find myself
in good Company
There’s an angel who’s watching from the shadows in shifts
And she’ll stand in judgement of the life that I’ve lived
And if that time ever comes, it’ll come far too quick
But I know I’ll surrender to the cards that she brings
For I Behold the River
And I Behold the Sea
And I find myself
in good Company
When they lay finally lay me down
Let my family gather around
And tell them all then how I stood
If I could do it again, I would
If I could do it again I would
For I am the River
And I am the Sea
And I find myself
in good Company
